Confusion after FYJC Merit Cut Off List Announcement

Confusion after FYJC Merit Cut Off List Announcement

After the first fyjc cut-off list for First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions on Monday was delayed, the confusion continued on Tuesday, with technical errors and changes in the fyjc admission procedure.

Vaishali Pitliya, who came from from Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai to secure her admission, said, “We were waiting till midnight on Monday, but mumbai.11thadmission.net website did not open. It was frustrating. Our journey was useless here. Schools started two months ago in MP.”

Akansha Mishra from All Saints High School who was securing her admission into St. Xavier’s College said, “The entire fyjc admission process is slow and we had to visit the officer concerned many times, even though the process is online. The fyjc mumbai.11thadmission.net website doesn’t open easily, and there are a lot of server errors coming up”.

“The fyjc admission procedure is a little taxing. At least one change of college preference must have been permitted and it is like a lucky draw, and it is difficult for those who do not get their first few college prefrences in the first merit list.” said a mother of a student from St. Mary’s School in Mazgaon.

Though some have a positive feeling. Father of Dhruvmil Mistry from St. Xavier’s School in Mira Road, said, “The delay was expected. The pattern was changed and now everything went online. So a delay was natural. It needs time and after some time the system will get better, and we need to support the initiative taken by the government. 2.5 lakh students are of course is hard to deal with when we have two children, and we have hard time to manage them.

Although the fyjc new admission procedure has got mixed reactions from some students and parents, as some welcomed the move by the govt. while others saw no benefit arising from it.

Smit Solanki from Green Lawns School said, “They should have kept the provisional fyjc admission process the way it was, as it secured your place in any given college”.

Rakesh Mehta, a parent of a student from Scholar High School in Colaba, had a different view point. “The fyjc admission process is better as people cannot reserve their seats and everyone gets an equal oppurtunity. It is a little risky as if you get into a particular college in your first merit list but you want a different college, you have to take the risk of waiting for the fyjc seond merit list and after this you might lose your chance to get into the former college too,” he said.

“Students should not panic, and wait if their name has not come out in the fyjc first merit list. The entire fyjc second merit list could be changed and its advisable not to cancel their seat where they get it." said, Dr Hemlata Bagla, principal of Kishinchand Chellaram College.

Swapna Durve, vice-principal at Mithibai’s Junior College, said, “How long a student is willing to wait to get enrolled into the college that is the best fit for them is a decisive factor this year, as the particular college might be allotted to them in the subsequent lists.”

Pune.11thadmission.net Website

Pune.11thadmission.net Website is Error Free

The FYJC online portal for Pune - pune.11thadmission.net has been error-free. After due to technical errors, Mumbai.11thadmission.net website was down for a day for admission to first year junior colleges (FYJC), Pune students did not face any errors.

Education minister Vinod Tawde announced that the online portal for FYJC 11th admissions would be shut down for a day for maintenance after many complaints of technical errors were reported by students and parents. However, the Mumbai.11thadmission.net website was shut down and not pune.11thadmission.netpune.11thadmission.net student login can be done straight away and there is no problem.

Tawde said that the shut down of website was due to technical problems. He said, “The Mumbai 11th admission net website would be shut on Wednesday to fix problems. Parents and students should not panic as problems would be rectified soon. It is being done to make sure that students do not face any technical difficulties while entering their college choices and filling out the online application form”.

He also mentioned that the 11th online admission process for form filling will be continued in all other divisions except Mumbai. The FYJC Standard 11 online admissions started in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad,  Nagpur and Amravati.

Education department officials said, “We received several complaints regarding crashing of the web portal as well as speed issues, from students in Mumbai. As the number of students who are applying from Mumbai are much more than any other division, servers on the mumbai.11thadmission.net website slowed down due to heavy load. No complaints have been received from Pune or any other division. The problem was encountered while filling the Part 2 form for 11th admission Mumbai as most of them have already filled the first part of the form."

Over two lakh students, passing the Maharashtra SSC exams have applied for 11th admission but only 67,289 students have fully completed the application. Almost 30,000 students, are yet to fill Part 1 of the form.

Tawde said that the students should not panic as the plan to improve the servers and increase the bandwidth is going on and the deadline of June 27 to fill forms, could be extended to June 30.

If the expected numbers of students don’t complete forms by the stipulated time and deadline, we will extend it. There would be no problems for them.

Department of centralised admissions, had made the process online across the state of Maharashtra for the first time. The ability to handle huge traffic and the portal does not slow down would be undertaken. Earlier, FYJC 11th admission online were only limited to major cities like Mumbai and Pune.

The Mumbai education department starts the website http://mumbai.11thadmission.net for students from Friday. Students can start filling up Part I of the forms, which needs them to enter personal, school and quota details. B B Chavan, deputy director said, "Since the 11thadmission.net portal is new, we want to test it and arrange a demo on Thursday. Forms filled on Thursday will not be accepted as these would be a test phase. mumbai.11thadmission.net website would be activated on Friday after making any corrections, if required."

The education department performed a test at the Pune 11th admission website last week. Students can get the information booklets sent by the education department for 11th admission through their schools. The FYJC information booklet has unique ID and password by which students can register and login on the official website http://mumbai.11thadmission.net.

The teachers, are concerned about the less time students have to complete the first part of the Online 11th admission form before the final admission process takes place. A teacher from an Andheri school said, "Our students would be called to school so that they can fill up the Online 11th admission form to make sure that there are no mistakes. We have only a week's time for that and many students would find it quite tough to fill the forms. It was necessary this year as the Mumbai 11th admission process and the http://mumbai.11thadmission.net portal are new."

mumbai.11thadmission.net - Change Junior College in Mumbai

Mumbai.11thadmission.net - Change Junior College

Students who wish to switch colleges in Class 12 will require to fill out an application form that will soon become available on the portal mumbai.11thadmission.net.

Students will, however, need a ‘valid reason’ to shift to another college. As per the education department, students can make the switch only if they get a different stream, a college closer to home, or if they have recently moved or their parents have been transferred to another part of the city.

Many students in the middle of Class 11 or in Class 12 look for changing colleges if they want to secure admission at a college of their choice or if they are unhappy with the college allotted to them in the FYJC online admissions. The new rule of Maharashtra education department will make it tough for students to move from one junior college to another.

Kavita Rege, principal, Sathaye College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Vile Parle said, "Mumbai’s junior colleges are waiting for the education department to announce 11th online admission process timetable before implementing the changes. Many students have approached us for switching colleges. For now, we have asked them to submit applications, and we will take admission only after the 11th online admission 2017 starts.”

Rege added that the government needs to move fast over the 11th online admission mumbai. “The education department had announced about 8 months ago for the 11th online admissions, but we are yet to receive any further information or any new development or recent changes about it. This has put our college admissions on hold,” said Rege.

Nashik FYJC Admission 2017 Online

Nashik FYJC Admission 2017 Online

From the academic session 2017-18, the education department has planned to begin the online mode of Common Admission Process (CAP) in Nashik. Students passing Class 10th exams this year will seek admission to 48 colleges under Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) via the centralized process.

Deputy director of education Ramchandra Jadhav with a meeting of principals of all these 48 institutes informed them about the CAP to be introduced from this academic session 2017-18. CAP has been successfully implemented in big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad. Nashik will see the online admission process from this year. fyjc org in mumbai and pune fyjc org in admission starts soon.

Junior colleges in Nashik conducted their own admission process at an individual level up till now. Many education societies and trusts run more than one college in Nashik and nearby areas. Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj (MVP) and Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya (MGV) are trusts that conducted their own CAP for all colleges run by them individually for Class XI. Though many students found this online CAP process cumbersome.

Ramchandra Jadhav said, "Class XI admission process would become simple for students after CAP is introduced. Students need to fill just one form with 10 preference options for various colleges. All students who pass the SSC examination from Maharashtra as well as from other boards will be eligible to participate in CAP. Though, students from CBSE and ISCE boards, need to convert their grades into percentages as per the education department rules.

Open category students need to submit the School Leaving Certificate and the original copy of the SSC statement of marks as the necessary documents for admission in Nashik junior colleges. Reserved category students need to show original certifications of their respective categories. Nashik Colleges need to follow the standard reservation pattern.

Management quota of 5% is reserved for each college, 20% seats are reserved for in-house quota. Students coming from schools run by the same trust under NMC areas will be given admission on the merit basis. The Nashik education department would held regular press briefings and keep the students informed about the CAP. Each and every student who wish to seek admission to Class XI in Nashik need to undergo CAP from this year. Students who do not wish to apply through CAP must search for colleges other than the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC).

Students and teachers were excited for the big decision to implement CAP process online. Shaunak Rajhansa, a Class XI commerce student of KTHM College said, "I submitted separate applications in three prominent colleges last year. The follow-ups for the admission is a hectic task. CAP is a great and welcome move".

K S Shinde, the teachers' representative of KSKW College, Cidco, welcomed the CAP implementation online and said that this system is foolproof making sure that admissions will be on merit basis.

With experiences of the CAP model in Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur, it is expected that smooth admissions of Class XI in Nashik for only 48 colleges will be conducted successfully.
